Airbag module repair and crash data clear

We remove crash event data from airbag modules across the UK fleet, from Alfa Romeo through to Volkswagen and everything we see in between. After the reset we test the module so you know the crash data is clear and the unit is ready to go back in.

In a normal week we see a very wide range of part numbers. There is no single “most common” make. Lately we see more newer vehicles as airbag module technology moves on, and we keep developing solutions for the next wave of ECUs. Browse brands we cover, or start from our airbag module reset and crash data reset pages.

  • Crash data / crash event data cleared from your airbag ECU
  • Module tested after repair before it is packed for return
  • Cars, vans, and motorhomes on a UK-wide postal service
  • Help confirming rare or unlisted part numbers from a label photo

Airbag warning light reset

If the airbag warning light is on but you have not been in a crash, we can still help. Many faults are battery or voltage related rather than a full collision lock. Whatever the airbag module problem looks like on the dash, call or WhatsApp us and we will help you find a resolution before you post.

Examples we see often:

  • Earlier Audi TT modules (for example 8N8 909 601) with a “65535 internal error”
  • Ducato / Relay / Boxer motorhomes with B0100-49 internal error
  • Volvos around 2006 to 2013 with poor charging or a weak battery showing “SRS SERVICE URGENT” or “SRS-CFF” on diagnostics

A clear photo of the ECU label is usually enough for us to confirm whether a reset is the right next step. See airbag module reset or contact us.

SRS service message and restraint faults

Newer vehicles often show text warnings instead of a simple light, for example “SRS Airbag Service Urgent”, “SRS Restraint System Malfunction Drive To Workshop”, or “Airbag Fault”. We are a quick call or WhatsApp away for advice on what that means for your module and whether a postal reset will clear it.

Common SRS / airbag messages we help with

  • SRS Airbag Service Urgent
  • SRS Restraint System Malfunction / Drive To Workshop
  • Airbag Fault / airbag warning light on with no recent crash
  • Stored crash data or locked ECU after a collision

For most modules, if we receive it in the morning, we complete the crash data reset and send it back the same day. Return shipping is chosen at checkout (Royal Mail Tracked 24, Tracked 48, or workshop drop-off and collect).

How it works

Sending your airbag module to us is simpler than it sounds. Here is the whole process, in plain English. You can also read the full page on how it works.

1. Find your module

Look for the sticker on the airbag ECU itself. That is the part number we need. You can pick your brand and model on the site, or type the number straight into search.

If the print is worn, or you are not sure which line is the right one, that is fine. Take a clear photo of the label and send it over. We will tell you what matches and what it costs before you post anything.

2. Order and pack it up

Once you have the right part, order it online. You can pay by card, bank transfer, or call us if you would rather sort payment over the phone.

Then pack just the module. Keep any brackets or fittings unless we ask for them. Write your order number inside the parcel, use strong packaging, and send it our way. Insured postage is worth it if you want extra cover on the way to us.

3. We reset it and send it back

When your module arrives, we clear the crash data, test the unit, and pack it for return. Most units that land with us on a weekday morning go back out the same day.

When it arrives home, plug it back in. That is it. No dealer wait, no new module, no guessing what happens next.

What to put in the parcel

  • The airbag module / ECU only
  • Your order number written inside
  • A clear photo of the label kept on your phone for reference
  • Strong packaging (and insured outbound postage if you want it)
